Where are we?

Project update from Peter Watson – 23rd March 2016

“I thought to give you an update on where we are with the Student System Replacement Project.

Shall we call it the “SSR project” from this point forward?

Well, we are now some way into the procurement phase of the project. We have invited suppliers to register their interest in bidding for the new student system. This was based on our needs and features of the system.

We received some very interesting responses from the potential suppliers. Their response suggests they believe they have the capability to deliver a system that can meet our needs. We have been busy evaluating those responses over the last two weeks.

From this exercise, we selected four suppliers whose system we would like to see more of.

We have therefore asked those suppliers to send us more information on how their system can help UAL meet its requirements for a student system.

We are looking for innovation and creativity and this will be an opportunity for suppliers to tell us what they can provide, where they’ve implemented it and propose new ideas.

We want a truly outstanding solution to improve the experience of students and staff members and are working very closely with Academic Registry in selecting the right student system for UAL.

We will keep you updated as we progress through the process but a special thanks to all of you who have been involved so far. Thank you for giving up your time to contribute to the project effort.

Best wishes,

Peter Watson”
